Nicely located between Notting Hill and Queensway tube stations the Champion is a well thought out pub in an area full of overpriced Bistros. We like it best in winter when the dark wood décor, mismatched furniture and open fireplace all create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In the summer you can make use of the small terrace at the back. The Champion definitely tries hard to offer its punters a well-rounded experience. Entertainment wise they have a wine club, quiz night and regular jam sessions. If you just want to have a quiet drink and some decent pub food at reasonable prices Monday, Tuesdays or Sundays are best. The service can be hit and miss but overall the atmosphere is inviting the food is decent and they offer a wide selection of beers and wines. We highly recommend it for a casual date option.
