The Dove is one of London’s most famous pubs and dates as far back as the 17th Century. It has everything; great beer, good food, anopen fire and a terrace with stunning views across the river. It’s always been popular boasting a long list of celebrity customers including Ernest Hemmingway and James Thomson (he wrote Rule, Britannia). The low ceilings, cosy saloon bar and dark oak beams makes the Dove a perfect romantic but laid-back date. Be warned the pub gets really busy at the weekend so if you want a Sunday roast you’ll need to get there early.
