This Victorian pub has a stunning interior and very relaxed atmosphere in the heart of central London – we could hardly believe it ourselves. With its new refurbishment in 2007 Samuel Smiths has done a great job bringing it back to it previous glory. The maze of wooden doors will lead you to different enclaves where you can enjoy some privacy by the bar or snuggle up by the fireplace, which is tucked away at the rear of the pub. With real ales at low prices and the opportunity to line your stomach with some hearty British food in the restaurant upstairs there really isn’t much more you could ask for. Get there early to snag the best seats in the house.

A really beautiful and unique pub. The layout is like a cluedo game, with lots of little sections, very interesting! It is perfect for a date. I’ll definately be going again!

Great pub, one of my favorites in London. More than enough nooks and crannies to hide away and conspire in with a new or old flame.
